Pentagon confirms hundreds of millions for Vandenberg shuttle prep
DoD plans allocate several hundred million dollars at Vandenberg Air Force Base over four to five years to support a late 1982 or 1983 Space Shuttle West Coast launch. A civilian and military study is under way with Phase two bids from Martin Marietta, Boeing, Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, and PRC Corp.
