Judge alters own ruling in Chicago Seven case
In Chicago US District Judge Julius J. Hoffman modified his previous decision in the Chicago Seven riot conspiracy trial and limited access to police records. He also instructed the jury that evidence against individuals may be used against all seven defendants. The defense called the modification a total defeat and argued the tapes and police conduct were improperly admitted.
