An air force base resident Philip Ray Siebenthaler 29 remained in the base hospital ICU after a Friday night collision on North Street and a four car crash Saturday night. Patty Hanson 18 and Robin Barber 13 suffered minor injuries while others escaped unharmed in the pile up on West Ocean Avenue. Sgt. William Stoneman 21 and William McCormack 65 walked away from a Sunday crash on Highway 246 with McCormack reporting minor injuries.

The Lompoc Police report a theft from Terri Vaughan Wasco’s car at 317 N. Y Street including a stereo tape deck six tape cartridges and two speakers valued at 117. The vehicle was parked at the location when stolen.

County workers oppose proposed variable pay plan
County groups continue to object to the new pay boost effective January 1. Superior Court clerks from Santa Barbara and Santa Maria cite five concerns including cost of living, workload, county comparisons, and classification analysis. Butch Ainsworth and two companions were captured after a two day escape during which they kidnapped eight people and killed one man. They face murder and multiple felonies including armed robbery burglary car theft and kidnapping in Fort Bend County. Ainsworth called the capture his only regret as police closed in in oak and mesquite country.
