Police kill man who calls himself Zodiac
In San Francisco a 32 year old man identified himself as Zodiac before being shot by police. He held his daughter at knifepoint prompting the confrontation. he later died after being wounded. The target acted erratic and claimed the moniker before the fatal encounter. A police spokesman doubted he matched the Zodiac profile.

Senate rejects Haynsworth for Supreme Court 55 to 45
