Lunar veterans Conrad Bean link with Apollo 12 to Earth
The second pair of lunar veterans Charlie Conrad and Alan Bean lifted from the moon aboard Intrepid at 9 26 a m EST after a 32 hour surface visit. They docked with Yankee Clipper three and a half hours later rejoining Richard Gordon aboard the command ship. They walked 1 1/2 miles on the moon collected 80 to 90 pounds of rocks and left Old Glory and a plaque.
