Lompoc Youth Parade Seeks Record Participation

Frank Figueroa, Jaycee chairman, reports growing interest in Lompoc Valley's annual Children's Christmas Parade with more units submitting entry blanks earlier. Parade set for November 28 at 10 a.m. will include Santa Claus, costumed children, marching units, bands, floats, and Simon the chimpanzee from Pea Soup Andersen's Animal Farm.

Reds seize Kompong Cham airfield amid Cambodian fighting

Communist troops reportedly took part of Kompong Cham and its airfield 50 miles northeast of Phnom Penh. Gov. In Tham called conditions terribly critical as clashes continued around the province. Government forces, with air support, repelled two airfield attacks and faced food and ammunition shortages.
