Stella Reed and Helen Smith, California Women in Chambers of Commerce officials, joined an orientation in Bakersfield. The Christian Women's Fellowship meets November 19 at 7 30 p.m. Faith Creates Wholeness is the theme. Rose Achberger and Helen Nordhagen will be guests at the Lompoc Fleet Reserve Auxiliary event November 18 in Del Norte. Cub Pack 103 hosts a Pinewood Derby at Ken Adam Park with 32 Cubs and dads. trophies awarded for design and top finishers. judges and organizers named.
Wartime friends Ole Lundens Bernice Lundens Paul Ducar and Julian Overton with his wife met a plane at Santa Maria Airport. Ducar and Overton were stationed with Lundens at Pt Arguello. Overton unmarried Ducar newly married. They toured Lookout Point Morro Bay and Santa Ynez region. They left Monday for home via Santa Maria and Los Angeles.
The Miguelito School PTA offered cash awards to top enrolling classes in a close race. Kindergarten under James Hahn won, with Loren Jackson's sixth grade class a close second. Fourth grade under Mrs Donald Wagner and a tie between Mrs John Anderson's second and third grade combined class followed. Membership Chair Mrs Russell Callan notes record PTA membership. An October program on Concepts of Mathematics in the Primary Grades will be repeated November 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the school multi purpose room led by Henry Gallina, the principal.
The Red Cross asks for volunteer help with social welfare aides hospital volunteers water safety first aid and nursing duties. An orientation for senior volunteers led by Mrs. Ronald Huckins is set for November 21 at 7 p.m. at the Red Cross Service Center 211 South H Street. Refreshments follow a film Capacity for Growth. New volunteers can pick up an application or call 736-5660 for more information.
Omega Pi Chapter Beta Sigma Phi sponsors a two day garage sale this weekend at Cathy Heaston's home 224 Antares Vandenberg Village from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Research Fund and Stanford Kidney Foundation. Items donated include couches toys bird cages books car radios and a television.
Marilyn Baird shares Hot Crabmeat Avocado Salad and Chili and Meatball Casserole recipes from Hawaii and family meals. Also presented are Pumpkin Cheese Pie with Graham Crust, Pumpkin topping, and a listing of future Christmas cookies, plus a note inviting reader recipe submissions.

Mrs Kathleen Brooks from Salt Lake City Utah and Mr Rick Dingus married at Crestwood Villa Salt Lake City. Lompoc relatives attended. He grew up in Lompoc and graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1973 with a BA in Fine Arts. The couple plans to live in Santa Barbara as he enters Brooks Institute of Photography.
