MiG 25 Fighter Returned to Soviet Union in Guarded Shipment

Japanese authorities handed 25 guarded cartons containing the dismantled MiG 25 jet to Soviet officials aboard the lumber carrier Taigonos near Tokyo. Soviet experts began tests while tensions with Moscow lingered after Viktor Belenko defected in 1976.
