A March blaze at Anchorage International Airport destroyed an Electra four engine propliner a USNA twin eng prop and an FAA DC3 with total damage pegged at 10 million dollars. Fire crews from the airport city borough and Elmendorf Air Force Base fought the blaze over three hours. Flights were canceled as the airport and main access road were closed.
