Third bribery conviction in 15 months in county
Santa Barbara juries in just over a year have returned guilty verdicts in three major bribery cases. Raul J. Navarro 36 faces 1 to 14 years for agreeing to accept a bribe in the Zaca Lake Resort case and a Nov. 25 sentencing before Judge John A. Westwick. Previously ex singer Phil Regan and Guadalupe Police Chief Stanley Camp were convicted in other bribery cases with Regan awaiting appeals and Camp sentenced for taking bribes from a sheriff's agent posing as a gambler.
