UCSB Students to Gain Part Time Jobs Under County Program
County supervisors approve a Word Study Program funding using federal Economic Opportunity Act money to hire UCSB students from low income families. Ten departments may employ 40 to 50 students at wages equal to regular County workers. the County pays 35 percent of salaries with departments funding the rest. Also, Lompoc passes Ordinance 922(73) setting a $25 filing fee for elective office nomination papers to be filed with the City Clerk.
