Halloween Dance At Moose Hall Chooses Winners

A Halloween party by the Loyal Order of Moose at Moose Hall featured costume judging with Evelyn Hill winning best single entry and Leslie McIntosh and others winning best dressed couple and various fun categories. The event supported Mooseheart library services for youth with a fashion show planned by Women of the Moose on November 16.

Spark Catches Fire at Mission Hills Baptist Meeting

A panel discussion on Southern Baptist missions titled A Spark Catches Fire was held by Mission Hills Baptist Missionary Society at Mrs. Ted Snyder’s home, with Mrs. Dale Soulek leading and panel members Mrs. John Walker, Mrs. Leo Dale, Mrs. Bruce Mills, and Mrs. Donald Williams. The gathering included additional members and guests, themed in purple and gold, with a planned November 18 event at Rev. Don Williams’s home featuring an Arabian dinner and guest speaker Mrs. Allan Brackin on Sons of Ishmael, followed by a round table.

PTA panel to discuss guidance and curriculum at Vandenberg Jr High

Vandenberg Jr High PTA will host a Tuesday meeting in the multi purpose room at 7 30 p m. The program features counselors Phyllis McGivney and Charles Iwai and social studies chair John Gargrave presenting guidance and curriculum scope. English chair Louise Allred will outline the English program and principal Albert J Burke will introduce the panel with a Q A period for parents.

A large open house reception Sunday afternoon honored Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marshall formerly Halda Rappler. Girls Friendly Society installs members at St Marys Church

The Girls Friendly Society held a Sunday installation at 9 o'clock in St Marys Episcopal Church officiated by Father Stuart Fitch. New silver membership pins were given to 14 girls and new group leaders were installed including Mines and Lee Bowles. The active group of 24 girls in grades 2 6 meet weekly on Mondays with the aim to grow in worship and earn badges. A reception followed worship featuring a white cake bearing the GFS motto Bear Ye One Another Burdens.
