Delta contract awarded to McDonnell Douglas for launch support

NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center announced a $57 288 321 contract to McDonnell Douglas Astronautics for two years of Delta launch support at Vandenberg and Cape Kennedy. The deal includes production of 16 second stages and fairings for the Delta vehicle and related hardware. Delta has launched most U.S. scientific satellites, orbiting 67 of 73 payloads. Production occurs at McDonnell Douglas Santa Monica facility.
