Reagan Denies Tying Reappointment to Prop Support

Gov. Ronald Reagan rejects claims he reappointed Mexican American Tony Sierra only if Sierra backed Prop. 1 tax limits. Sierra calls the charge a lie, while Assembly Speaker Moretti released Nava's letter alleging the linkage. Reagan says no deals are made and he talked with no state board members about the initiative.

Christmas Parade entry forms available in Lompoc

Ed Lopez president of the Lompoc Jaycees said entry forms for the annual Children's Christmas Parade are now at the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce office. The parade is at 10 a.m. on November 24 with the theme A Christmas Carol and will feature Santa, ribbons and trophies across 12 categories. Candy canes will be handed out after the parade in the Bank of America parking lot.

Local archaeology course offered in Lompoc in March 1974

The non credit Introduction to Local Archaeology will be taught by Larry Spanne through Lompoc Adult Education in March 1974 with a 23 enrollment minimum. The course covers Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo prehistory, field trips and labs, and may lead to advanced offerings. Interested residents sign up at the Lompoc Museum. enrollment is limited.

Four County Auditors Earn Certified Internal Auditor Status

County Auditor-Controller Paul E. Floyd announced that four members of the internal audit division have earned certified internal auditor credentials. The honorees are Kenneth W. LaBarge Kristi Johnson Bernard C. Bowman and Glen L. Butler for meeting the Institute of Internal Auditors requirements.
