Noted race horse owners eye Santa Ynez Valley relocation
Race horse trainer Marvin Roberts told county officials two prominent thoroughbred owners, including Rex Ellsworth, are considering moving operations to Santa Ynez Valley to escape subdivisions and smog in Southern California. He warned developers could turn the valley into another Thousand Oaks within five years. The Board of Supervisors continued the Insignis rezoning hearing to June 10 due to a tied vote and absent members.
