Budget session adds 30000 for Cachuma rest rooms

Taxes Board of Supervisors continues budget work. The week adds 30000 for Cachuma recreation area rest rooms. The sum earmarked for Los Angeles County Fair participation at Pomona is cut from the budget. Today is the final day to make attendance arrangements.

Lompoc Little League opened its season with a double-header. Beattie V-8s beat Perazzi Red Kids 2 to 1 as Al Lara and Manuel Munoz duel on the mound with three hits allowed each. Miller's Rogers topped Little Fellows 13 to 9 with Hartley and Mange homering.

Two Hospitalized In Auto Train Collision In City

Mrs. Dave Horn and her son Edgar Horn are in Lompoc hospital with serious injuries after their car collided with a Southern Pacific train at the South B Street grade crossing on Saturday afternoon. The westbound car was struck on the left side by the northbound train. the vehicle was nearly a total loss.

Deer Range Development Underway in Santa Ynez Project

California's Department of Fish and Game and the U S Forest Service begin another phase of a cooperative effort to restore 80 000 acres burned last year in the Santa Ynez mountains north of Santa Barbara. Helicopter reseeding last fall left knee high grass. this week 350 gallons of a hormone spray to suppress shrub seedlings will be applied to maintain the forage for deer.
