County expands car pool plan and ends home use of county cars
County supervisors approved expanding central car pool facilities starting July 1 and ended the practice of employees using county cars to commute home. Eleven thousand seven hundred eighty miles were logged in nine months. The plan adds radio equipped cars and 15 non radio cars, totaling 105 pool vehicles across county departments.

The Lompoc County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a record 1969-70 budget of 46.9 million dollars with an 18 cent potential tax rate increase. County workers receive large pay hikes in new county ordinance
