Grumman and TRW Named to Design HEAO Space Observatory
Two firms Grumman Aerospace Corp and TRW Systems Group were chosen for ten month fixed price design work on the High Energy Astronomy Observatory HEAO. The project aims for a 22 000 pound satellite to study X rays gamma rays and cosmic rays in a 200 nautical mile earth orbit with a Titan II launch possibility in 1974.
