National Guard Deployed to Aid Chattanooga Police

National Guard units, about 1500 to 2000 strong, moved into Chattanooga Tennessee to assist police after three nights of sniping arson and looting by gangs. Governor Dunn ordered 80 additional state troopers and mobilized local Guardsmen to reinforce a stretched police force under Mayor Robert K. Mariner 8 launch possible this weekend after tests

Space Agency reports the Atlas Centaur rocket and Mariner spacecraft passed a day long flight test and engineers target Saturday for the second Mariner satellite toward Mars. If successful it will be named Mariner 8 and aims to map Mars in November amid concurrent Mars 2 efforts from Russia.
