The Lompoc Little will hold a meeting tomorrow night at 8 30 at the Lompoc Public Library to elect a nominating committee. Able bodied men 18 to 45 are sought by the Lompoc Fire Department to join the volunteer or reserve squad with three open positions and a roster planned. Reserve firefighters receive 25 a month and 5 per fire call. Applicants must meet height and other requirements and apply to the City of Lompoc Personnel Department 119 W Walnut Ave. Gallegos discusses the Jobs Optional Program for aiding young people pursuing business careers, active locally in Santa Barbara. The City of Lompoc PSF and NYC tutoring plan offer 50 Allan Hancock College students tutoring 10 hours at 2 per hour, raising weekly income to 52, to help through courses. Fred Orr notes funding hopes county-wide but uncertain. Officials expect strong private sector support to employ all youths this summer.
