Jerry L. Good, Allan Hancock College student from Lompoc, will receive the California Highway Patrol Community Service Award at the college awards banquet on June 3. He aided Sgt. Ralph E. Jackson after a Feb 2 Highway 1 crash, likely saving the sergeant’s life. Major Michael Lash confirmed the severe head wound and bleeding control. Deputies arrested Robert Lee Copeland 18 of 217 S First Pl on suspicions of possessing marijuana and booked him in Lompoc Jail at 8 p.m. on Health and Safety Code violations drunken in auto minor drinking and open container in auto Bail set at 3420. A 16 year old girl driver was released to her parents with no charges pending action by juvenile authorities. The car was spotted moving erratically on Highway 246 near Ocean Park three miles west of South Vandenberg gate. Police confiscated about one ounce of suspected marijuana eight unopened beer cans and one opened can during a routine frisk for weapons.
