Illinois man killed in motorcycle crash here
A 2 year old man from Decatur Illinois was killed early Sunday in a collision of his motorcycle and a foreign car. Four people were injured including a 19 year old passenger from Santa Barbara and a 24 year old driver at Vandenberg Air Force Base Hospital. The incidents occurred near Lompoc High School and on Highway 101 with multiple injuries and vehicle damage.

Forum for sheriff hopefuls draws six candidates to Lompoc
Six of seven Santa Barbara County sheriff coroner candidates will attend a public forum at Lompoc High School tonight at 7 30 sponsored by the Junior Alpha Club. Moderator Harry Crompe will oversee five minute opening statements and audience questions plus two minute rebuttals. One candidate, Harry Looney, cannot attend.

Memorial services continue on campuses for slain youths
Memorials spread across colleges as protests over the Jackson State killings and Indochina war escalate. At Jackson, about 1,500 people placed crosses for victims and a civil rights worker, while police say shots were fired after sniper fire. Des Moines drew 3,000 antiwar protesters led by Sen. Arab Israeli conflict widens with air and artillery strikes
The conflict stretched from the Suez Canal to the Golan Heights as Israeli planes bombed Arab guerrilla and Jordanian artillery positions in Jordan and attacked artillery bases in Jordan. Jordan claimed anti aircraft fire downed two Israeli jets and Jordanian artillery exchanged fire with Israeli forces in the Golan Heights. Israel reported no aircraft losses and claimed to have driven off an Egyptian air raid while hitting Egyptian positions along the canal.
