Five-year officer admits accidental shooting death near UC Santa Barbara
David J. Gosselin, 31, a five year police veteran, testified at a coroner inquest that his rifle fired the fatal shot at Kevin Moran, 22, during violent disorders near the Isla Vista Bank of America. The inquest ruled Moran’s death an accidental act by another. Moran had just extinguished a Molotov blaze when struck on the porch. Moran died from a .30-06 bullet that severed an artery amid rock throwing and riots.
