Twisters Strike the South Kill Four and Cause Damages

United Press International reports tornadoes hit Florida Georgia and South Carolina on Sunday killing at least four all in Georgia. Nearly $1 million in damages reported with 18 injured at trailer parks in Glennville and Savannah. One hurt in Florida another in South Carolina as weather warnings extend to several states.

California poll splits on Nixon resignation debate

A California Poll of May 1 to May 7 shows 41 percent favor Nixon leaving office, 24 percent oppose resignation but support impeachment, and 32 percent want Nixon to stay and halt impeachment. The poll suggests about 75 percent favor either resignation or congressional decision. Nixon won California by a landslide 16 months earlier.

Two men in a small motorboat plunged over Horseshoe Falls near Niagara Falls Ontario on a busy weekend. They were missing and presumed drowned. Park officials said search was visual due to currents and whirlpools, with bodies possibly submerged or miles away.
