Oil firms plead not guilty in Santa Barbara pollution case
Four major oil companies Union Oil Mobil Texaco and Gulf pled not guilty to 343 counts of violating the California Fish and Game Code over 1969 pollution of Santa Barbara coastal waters and beaches. A jury trial was set for November 17 by Judge Walter Parent after waiving the reading of a 112 page complaint.
