Board hears report on all year school program

County consultant Harriet Miller told Cabrillo High School trustees and about 100 attendees that all year schooling offers educational benefits but not guaranteed savings. She outlined three options: extend the 180 day calendar, stagger attendance for 12 month use, and a voluntary summer program, noting many districts consider the concept to broaden opportunities and speed graduation.

Nixon backs higher minimum wage mix for adults and teens

The Nixon administration endorsed raising the adult minimum wage to 2.00 an hour with a youth minimum of 1.60 in place. Hodgson proposed 1.80 in January and 2.00 in January 1974 for the current 1.60 base. Leaders split after California summit on tax and welfare reform
