Candidate warns against drilling bill in Santa Barbara Channel
Democratic candidate Kenneth A. Palmer denounces Assembly Bill 150 proposed by W. Don MacGillivray. Palmer urges withdrawal, warns the bill would force the State Lands Commission to allow drilling in state waters if federal drills affect state reservoirs. He notes Republicans and Democrats blocked the urgency clause, preventing immediate platforms but warns the bill could pass and platforms could reach state waters by November.
