Five Volunteer Firemen Die in Corry Paint Store Blaze
In Corry Pennsylvania a major fire at a North Center Street paint store killed five volunteer firefighters including the chief’s son and injured 27 others. The blaze spread to a savings and loan building and an iron works offices, destroying the paint store and the savings firm while damaging the iron works offices. Firemen from 13 nearby communities fought the five hour blaze with undetermined damage costs.
