Sunday concert by The Music Studio teachers with guest artist

Music Studio instructors present an afternoon concert this Sunday in March. Guest artist Mrs George Howard Jr performs regional works alongside pieces by Bach Mendelssohn Chopin and Gershwin among others. Vocalist Alice Ann Nilsen and pianist Pat Blaschke join a program of classical guitar and duet selections for a free public event.

DAR to honor good citizens at luncheon

Republican Women’s Club hosts tea for new members in Lompoc

A candlelight spring tea at 247 St Annes Place honored new and prospective members of the Lompoc Chapter Republican Women's Club. Guests included state and county leaders with volunteers pouring and serving, as pink themes and garden flowers framed the event.

Bridal shower honors niece in Alpha Clubhouse

Mrs. Juan Flores hosted a May bridal shower for her niece Miss Gloria Ana Mariscal at Alpha Clubhouse with pink and white decor, three cakes, and a host of relatives. Guests included mothers Mrs. Paul Mariscal and Mrs. Arthur Souza, plus many attendees, with door prizes awarded to several women.

Order of Amaranth welcomes visitors

Flower Valley Court 142 hosted a meeting at the Masonic Temple East Fir Ave where Catherine Callan and Garland Kinser led the installation with Oscar Olsen and Marie Johnson assisting. Don Glasscock Robert Stauffer installed as assistant grand lecturers with La Verne Glasscock Lula Nix noted as district deputy and representative to British Columbia. Next meeting Monday March 29 at 8 pm with officer elections planned.

Westside 4 H Club Hosts March Swimming Party

Westside 4 H Club members held a swimming party Saturday at Lompoc Municipal Pool from 5:00 to 7:00 organized by James Kroetsch. A barbecue followed at the Kroetsch home. Demonstration day is set for March 27.

Lompoc Flower Festival Queen Candidates Debut at Tea Dance

Nine contestants will debut Sunday at Village Country Club from 2 to 5 p.m. Each candidate, wearing pink, lavender, or pale green Aline dresses, will be introduced with sponsor groups. Five finalists will be chosen by ticket sales. the queen will be crowned June 12 after a talent and poise contest.

Xi Lambda Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its semi annual rush party March 20 at the Sportsmans Club. Cocktails hors d oeuvres preceded the spaghetti dinner at 7 p m.
