County study finds 80 percent seek form of government other than county
The Local Agency Formation Commission heard that 80 to 85 percent of unincorporated areas in the county are exploring a different government form. Goleta Valley Orcutt Montecito and Hope Ranch are highlighted as major populations eyeing cityhood or alternatives. Five cities already exist Santa Barbara Santa Maria Lompoc Guadalupe Carpinteria.

Jeannette Kennedy 53 died yesterday morning in Lompoc. Rosary is this evening at 7 at McPeek Family Mortuary. Requiem mass Saturday at 8:45 officiated by Father Andrew McGrath. Interment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Born January 31 1918 in Canada. Former Boeing employee at Vandenberg AFB. Survived by two daughters Carlie Hayes and Beverly Beattie, four sisters and three brothers in Canada, parents in Canada, and grandchildren in Lompoc. Resided in Lompoc area 12 years, previously on Baily Avenue and with daughter at 129 N G St.
