States rush to pass vote law lowering age to 18
States moved quickly to ratify a constitutional amendment reducing the voting age to 18 in all elections. Delaware Connecticut Minnesota Washington and Tennessee approved the measure after House passage by 400 to 19, with at least 23 more states expected to follow. San Francisco Teachers Strike Disrupts City Schools
In San Francisco the AFL CIO affiliated American Federation of Teachers began a citywide walkout halting classes at several public schools. Pickets blocked entrances.
