Taste of Arts tea fundraiser by Lumen Vitae League

The Lumen Vitae League hosts a Taste of Arts charity tea on Saturday April 7 from 1 to 4 PM at Veterans Memorial Hall by invitation only. Guests view art by Dee Sudbury Glenda Johanssen and sculptures by Robert Houghtaling with diverse displays and demonstrations. Donations of two dollars support the Children’s Home Society, established in 1891, while attendees enjoy Wok cookery antiques jewelry and floral arrangements.

4 H Novices Demonstration Day At La Canada School

James Kroetsch of Westside 4 H Club presided over a valley wide novice demonstration day at La Canada School on Monday. Floresta 4 H members Jean Heinrich Paul Heinrich and Amanda Brandon demonstrated apple crisp while Westside members Vernon Heidlebaugh Bob Fletcher Don Fletcher and John Mickadell showcased keyboard crafts leather work and gourds. Judges included Nancy Harriet Randall Greg Beard Joe Mendez and James Kroetsch. Also World War I Auxiliary members plan a hospital sewing meeting Tuesday March 27 at Minnie Zvoranek’s home at 420 South I St at 1 30 p m.
