Giants Beat Padres In Cactus League Exhibition

Willie Mays led off with a two run homer as the San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres 9 to 6 in a Cactus League game. Juan Marichal allowed one run in six innings while Clarence Gaston homered for San Diego. Mays, Hunt and Lanier had two hits each in a 14 hit Giants attack. The Padres rallied for five runs in the ninth before Frank Linzy retired the side. Gonzalez and Davis produced two hits for San Diego with Gonzalez driving in two. Stardust road track closed permanently in Las Vegas
