Johns-Manville to Build 54,300 Sq Ft Hardboard Plant
Johns-Manville will enter the hardboard business with a 54,300 square foot Natchez Mississippi plant next to its insulating board works. The project, part of a $26 million 1956 expansion, will add 6 million square feet of capacity, 120 jobs, and about $500,000 to Natchez payroll. The company also eyed gypsum, and has other expansion plans including plants in North Bay Ontario Savannah Georgia Stockton California and Klamath Falls Oregon.
