Swarms of Quakes Hit Gulf of California Off Baja
More than 40 earthquakes rocked the northern Gulf of California near San Felipe. Caltech seismologists were dispatched to study potential undersea volcanic activity as tremors continued five hours after onset. The strongest quake reached magnitude 5.5 on the Richter scale.
