Las Vegas ends historic strike after 94 hours

A 94 hour walkout by 14 000 union workers and 16 Strip hotels ended with a Nevada Resort Association and Culinary and Bartenders Union agreement. The pact provides a 27 28 percent wage increase plus fringe benefits, with cocktails waitresses paid about 55 a day. Gov. Laxalt helped push negotiations as most Strip casinos closed and tax revenue declined.

California Board Orders Sewer Halts in San Francisco Region

Drug Lecture At Vandenberg Base For Junior Officers

Snowstorm sweeps wide U S with heavy Kansas snow

A snowstorm swirled across Kansas and the Great Plains with heavy snow in central and southwestern Kansas.
