Boy Rescued From Narrow Abandoned Well Shaft
In San Luis Obispo, a 2-year-old boy named Ryan Todd was trapped for about 90 minutes in a 10 inch diameter shaft of a 20 foot abandoned well in the Lakewood area. Firemen used a snare to pull his hands free and he was removed to a nearby hospital reportedly unharmed after the Saturday incident.

Former Cabrillo student injured in rural collision
A former Cabrillo High School student, Kenneth Zimmerman, 16, is in serious condition after a two car crash seven miles east of Lancaster.
