Monday Night Class caravan stalled near Rock Springs

About 300 followers of Stephen Gaskin’s Monday Night Class camped at Rock Springs Wyoming rest stops after several of their 58 psychedelic buses broke down. They plan to depart Tuesday if repairs finish, while eyeing Tennessee farmland as a permanent home.

Assembly committee kills bill easing tax increase on banks

In Sacramento a Constitutional Amendments Committee deadlocked 4-4 on Assemblyman Leo T. McCarthy’s bill to let the legislature raise bank, insurance and corporate taxes by a simple majority. Business groups warned higher taxes would raise rates and hurt the economy, opposing the measure.
