Ruben Olivares edged Hafey 7-5 on two cards and 10-2 on one, in a 12 round split decision in Inglewood. Olivares, 72-4-1, used reach and boxing to outpoint Hafey, who fell behind 10-2 on one judge’s score but remained dangerous throughout. Hafey, 34-6-4, protested the decision after the bout.
