Jetliners collide in western France killing 68 onboard DC9
A Iberia DC9 with 68 aboard collided in flight with a Spantax Coronado over western France and exploded near Nantes. The Spantax jet diverted to Cognac and its passengers survived. Authorities say there were no survivors on the Iberia flight.

Funeral Services For Janeie Simpson In Lompoc
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Starbuck Mortuary Chapel for Janeie W. Simpson 91 who died Saturday at Lompoc District Hospital. Rev. Kenneth Boyd will officiate at private interment Wednesday at Glenn Haven Memorial Park in San Fernando. She was born in Scotland in 1882 and lived in California 24 years and in Lompoc 11. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Lucile Hood of Lompoc. Contributions may be made to the Lompoc District Hospital.
