Wholesale prices fall 0.5 percent in February
UPI reports February wholesale prices dropped 0.5 percent, the steepest monthly decline in a year, with food prices still retreating and industrial goods edging up 0.3 percent. The index stood at 179.4, about 47 percent higher than a year earlier, while fuel and power costs eased due to lower crude prices.

Two crash victims still hospitalized
Two persons remained hospitalized today with injuries from a two car head on collision Tuesday on Highway 1 south of Lompoc. Charles Johnson Jr a Lompoc fire captain 38 in fair condition in Santa Maria ICU. Carlotta Balcena 28 in good condition in Lompoc with bruises and lacerations. Five others from Los Angeles County were injured. four released today and one due to be released. The crash occurred at Salsipuedes Bridge with the second car bursting into flame and occupants ejected. The Sheriff's Lompoc Search and Rescue searched the nearby creek area. Cause under investigation.
