Judge denies guilty pleas in Mullin murders case
Herbert W. Mullin, 25, clutched law books and a Constitution as he tried to plead guilty to 10 Santa Cruz area slayings. Judge Donald R. About 2,800 longshoremen skipped work to protest a new wage guarantee plan, diverting at least three ships from San Francisco docks.
