Col Lander to retire June 30 at Vandenberg after SAC service
Col Jack D. Lander commander of the 3901st Strategic Missile Evaluation Squadron at Vandenberg AFB since February 1969 will retire June 30. He led five SAC missile combat crew competitions and earned high praise from Gen John C. Meyer for the 1973 event. Lander’s career included World War II B-24 missions, Atomic test work, and extensive ICBM duties since 1960. He will be succeeded by Col William H. Sands and plans to live in Fort Collins, Colorado with Grace I. Skagen Lander.
