OPEC cancels planned five per cent oil price hike

Nine of the OPEC members Algeria Ecuador Gabon Indonesia Iran Kuwait Nigeria Qatar and Venezuela decided not to raise crude prices as scheduled for July 1 1977 citing unity and solidarity. The move leaves Iraq and Libya not mentioned as having joined the cutback.
