Crime declines in nation in first quarter of 1973
FBI Uniform Crime Reports show serious crime fell one percent nationwide in the first quarter of 1973. Attorney General Elliott Richardson said 100 of the largest cities reported reductions, while suburban and rural areas continued rising. The change includes all larceny theft rather than only thefts over 50 dollars.
