Graveside rites for Harold P. Robbins 49 will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Jeremiah Geran officiating. Robbins born 1924 in West Virginia died in a traffic accident near Lompoc yesterday. He lived in Lompoc 11 years worked at Vandenberg AFB Civil Service for four years after prison service at FCI and Alcatraz. Survived by widow Mary and four children. siblings and grandchildren listed. Memorials to charity. Starbuck Mortuary directing.

Frank Torres Chaves 37 of Lompoc drew 60 days in county jail on his third DUI after arrest April 21. John Michael Eckert 24 of 411 North H St was fined 750 and jailed 30 days on his third DUI conviction. Judge Terrill F. Cox presided.

County SEIU workers approve wage pact in Santa Barbara
The Service Employees' International Union 960 clerical welfare mental health and probation workers vote 56 percent yes to an eight percent raise with additional increases for hospital maids 22.5 percent and night shift 6 percent. A one year sick pay payoff 50 percent for 240 to 960 hours and a new strike fund are approved along with 10 percent for welfare investigators 12.5 percent for laundry truck drivers and 25 dollars monthly for bilingual staff. Earlier about 50 SEIU members settled with the county.
