Adams named to north county coastal panel rep
Santa Barbara County City Selection Committee named Adams a north county member of the South Central Coast Regional Conservation Commission. Adams, a Santa Maria rancher and Planning Commission member, was chosen to succeed Ernest Wallbrandt, Carpinteria City Councilman, as chairman Tim Terry had nominated Wallbrandt earlier. Mayors from Lompoc Santa Maria Guadalupe Carpinteria attended. Santa Barbara was absent. Stevens opposed the initial vote but later sought unanimous appointment. The group discussed securing more county funding, noting CETA disparities between Isla Vista and Carpinteria. The committee planned further meetings to explore additional county funds and set two year terms for chairman and vice chairman.
