Supervisors weigh Goleta park plans and forest impact
The Board of Supervisors reviewed a Forest Service notice about Newhall Land Co. plans for a large recreation vehicle facility on Suey Ranch near Twitchell Reservoir in Santa Maria Valley. The service warned no Los Padres area could support such facility without erosion and damage. A 950 acre fuel break project in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara and Ojai ranger districts was also reported. The board adjourned in memory of Ray P. Stalker. It referred migrant health program funding and personnel needs to the health department and discussed accepting larger mobile command post trailers, with county costs to be studied.
