Four Hurt in Two Traffic Accidents Near Lompoc
Four people were injured in two separate crashes near Lompoc. On Highway 246 a tandem bicycle ridden by brothers Tommy Borchard, 9, and Jimmy Borchard, 10, veered into a car driven by Mary Jean Hayes, 17, injuring all three and sending the youths to Lompoc Hospital with a deep leg cut and a possible fracture for Tommy and a broken left leg for Jimmy. In a second crash at Drake Hotel, Rodney Paul Rynkiewicz, 18, and Kirt Mathew Moore, 18, sustained multiple cuts and bruises after losing control of their motorcycle and skidding over 100 feet.
