Board delays hospital talks to July 16
The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors put off serious discussion on a new county hospital study until July 16. The report suggests operating with one hospital and expanding out patient clinics, with Santa Maria and Goleta Valley as the sites. Supervisor Curtis Tunnell sought more time to review the document, while Administrative Officer Raymond D. Johnson apologized for late delivery. The group also approved measures including ending county rate controls on private ambulances and a condo map west of Hope Ranch. They approved a code change to permit beer sales in certain county parks with state approval, and denied Walnut Properties appeal re Oak Knolls adult theater defeat.
